  1. Do as much of your own baking as possible, most things can be made cheaper than you can buy them. Shortbread is a delicious treat and is cheap and easy to make. A Yule log needs a little more skill but worth having a go at.

    • Hi Margaret, I’m a little fearful of attempting things that look good, like yule logs, and decorated cakes. But absolutely, homemade shortbread is just the best isn’t it? Thanks for popping over.
