So you need more money and fast, what do you do? Look around your home and I bet there are things to sell to make money that you no longer care about, need or use.
Getting a second job, starting a side hustle or making cheap meals can help but they don’t help you make money fast.

I’m certainly not advocating selling things you like or use. Even if you are a minimalist there are going to be things to sell and make money from that you would never have thought of.

The stuff you have lying around your home are your quickest route to easy cash.
They won’t make you rich but they will give you that cash boost when you need it most.

I find Facebook Marketplace can give you the quickest cash turnaround. But you can also sell for cash quickly through Craigslist, Ebay, Gumtree, Preloved and other local sites.

Rent A Spare Room
If you have a spare room in your apartment/home, consider subletting that spare room to somebody.
If you prefer more stable cash flow you can rent it out long term to a tenant (up to a year!), Otherwise you could try and use other short term rental models like AirBnB.
You’d be surprised how much extra money you could make by renting out a spare room if you have one!
Especially with the way rents are priced at the moment, it seems there are no signs of them slowing down!
Rent Out Your Garage
There are two popular methods you can use to rent out your garage.
The first is to rent it out as a parking space (assuming you’re not using it of course), This can fetch you a good chunk of change especially if you live close to a city or in a densely populated area.
This is a pretty hands off way of renting out your garage. Negotiate your price, hand over the key and collect the rent your due!
The second way is to rent it out as a storage space, this can fetch you a higher rent but will be slightly more hands on since you will have to try your best to ensure that the items being stored are kept in the same condition.
This method will take slightly longer to get going but can help you with a relatively passive income stream once you acquire your initial clients.
Holiday Decorations
If you are someone who prefers to have a color theme for your holiday decorations and you’ve changed them recently then why not sell the old set?
Also, Fall and Halloween decor are becoming must have items. For frugal folk these are often beyond their budget, but they would love to buy yours!
If you are confident in flipping these items you could also find more holiday decorations at online marketplaces or even at garage sales and flip them for a profit!
Home Decor
It is so easy to pick up yet another home decor item when you are out shopping. I bet you have decor items that have been relegated to the garage or attic.

Personally I’m a fan of buying second hand so believe me when I say people will pay you cash for your unwanted home decor.

Not just that! If you’re an artistic person, consider building something with your legos and sell the entire structure that you made, you’ll be surprised how much you’d be able to sell it for.
Toy Cars/Dolls
All kids have toys when they are younger but they soon grow out of it.
Once they outgrow them, it presents the perfect opportunity to sell them, there are certain toys that are quite rare as well since they’ve been discontinued.
Not just your kids, maybe you’re digging up your garage and found a few toys that you used to play with when you were younger!
Consider dusting them off, looking up that toy online and checking out if there is a market for it.
A lot of people actually collect old toys as a hobby!
Look around and there might just be a diamond in the rough.
Brand Name Clothing
Brand name clothes cost a lot when new. These are great things to sell to make money since they are typically big ticket items.
Savvy people who like to wear brands will happily buy secondhand but often don’t want to trawl through the secondhand stores.
Also, there’s a lot of hype involved around brand name clothing, that hype may not have existed when you first bought those clothes.
Obviously, the bigger the brand, the more you’ll be able to sell it for.
If you do the work, you can reap the rewards.
Sell You
Depending on what country you live in there are parts of you that you can sell today and make some quick cash.
And I don’t mean personal services ladies!
These are all legal in some states and countries. It’s your choice about selling any or all of them for money.
Your Body
For tests, folks, just for tests! Pharmaceutical companies often need volunteers to test or trial new drugs in strictly controlled environments.

There are multiple paid survey sites that will give you cash/amazon gift cards/paypal cash just for completing their surveys on their website.
Majority of them require you to answer a series of multiple choice questions.
Google have their own rewards system called “Google Opinion Rewards“.
It prompts you to download an app, they ask you a few questions about yourself and based off of that information you’ll receive surveys.
Typically you’ll get them around once a week but it can be more or less frequent than that according to their website.
